Good Practice
When members first log into a Littoralis™ intranet they are required to self-certify their compliance with existing 'Must Read Documents'. These can be downloaded by members before they log in, in case they need to re-acquaint themselves. Access to the Intranet itself is not allowed until members have self-certified that they have read, understood and will abide by these documents. For partnerships whose existing documents do not specify access to digital or online information, additional terms and conditions can be displayed on the first-time log-in page itself. A detailed log is generated, accessible to the partnership, of the time and date of each member's individual self-certification.
Littoralis™ intranets enable partnerships to convert to an online-only Must-Read Document system so that the only 'effective' versions of all Must Read Documents are those which are available for download from the partnership's intranet. A report is generated which shows which members have downloaded these documents and indicating which of them, although self-certified, have not read the Must Read Documents. Must Read Documents can be easily revised and members can easily be obliged to re-certify against any new versions at any time.
Littoralis™ products generate system-generated passwords for members. This fact, along with the built-in 'remind me' function available to members at log-in, means that passwords can periodically be reissued to minimise any password abuse. A report is always available to the partnership displaying the time and date of every access by every member, and the IP address of each log-in and tools allow partnerships to easily and quickly analyse this information to indicate usage patterns and possible password abuse by individual Members.
