Safer Premises Intranet is for businesses and other organisations in peripheral, out-of-town or rural locations such as business parks, factories, warehouses, farming areas, schools and churches. SPI enables efficient, timely exchange of information about local security issues and suspicious activities, linking with each other and with the police and other agencies.

Safer Premises Intranet

Businesses and other organisations away from town- and city-centres need to share information about local offenders and recent criminal activity, to have a fast and simple way of reporting incidents to police, to share CCTV images for the purpose of identification, to be alerted of relevant developments or events, and to access information about lost or stolen plant and machinery.

Safer Premises Intranet (SPI) enables that to happen. It makes it possible for businesses and other organisations to join together into a crime reduction group to help the police - and themselves - to tackle local low-level crime and anti-social behaviour, bringing real benefits for their members, other local businesses, police and residents.

Paper-based procedures are slow, cumbersome and, ultimately, expensive. And with more members and more personal data to exchange the problem only gets worse. So sharing and managing information is a central component of SPI - and built-in as standard.

Users of SPI need an easy, quick means of reporting incidents. Paper-based forms aren't good enough - they're often mislaid altogether, time-consuming to complete, or completed illegibly. So SPI's built-in Online Incident Reporting system is standard.

Communicating with other participating businesses - keeping them up to date about new offenders but also about successes, police news and upcoming events - is essential. Our automated eNewsletter system is a key component of SPI, bringing members back to the intranet time and again, and increasing intranet usage. It's built-in as standard too.

All crime reduction groups must be compliant with the Data Protection Act 1998. So Littoralis'™ data security system and procedures to ensure Good Practice are important components of every implementation of BCRP Intranet. SPI comes with its own 'Must Read documents' which define the rules of the partnership and the obligations of group members

Offenders identified in one area are more likely to appear in a neighbouring area. And many if not most of the offenders active in out-of-town commercial areas, churches and schools at night, are the same individuals who make a nuisance of themselves in the town- and city-centre night-time and daytime economies. So SPI has been designed to make linking between other SPIs for the purpose of sharing intelligence, simple and efficient. It's quick to set up and involves no cost whatever. And of course the same kind of interworking can be established between SPI users and adminisrators of BCRP Intranet.

All our solutions come complete with the Littoralis™ Content Management system to ensure that adding, editing and deleting content on the intranet is simple, quick and requires no technical knowledge. And our Membership Management system makes it simple to add and delete members from the intranet, and to monitor their compliance with the partnership's own protocols and rules while they're on it.
